Who We Are
Ilima Intermediate School is located in Ewa Beach, Oahu, and services the neighborhoods of Ewa, East Kapolei, Honouliuli, Ocean Pointe, West Loch, parts of Iroquois Point, and Waipahu. Ilima graduates will transition to James Campbell High School. Ilima Intermediate provides education to grades seven and eight, and services five out of seven feeder schools. These five elementary feeder schools are Kaimiloa, Pohakea, Holomua, Iroquois Point, and Ewa Beach. Currently, the school serves a population of approximately 854 students. Our demographics reveal that during the school year 2015-2016, 51.7% of students qualified for Free and Reduced lunch, 9% are in Special Education (SPED), and 4.7% are English Learners (EL). Ilima Intermediate School has a total of 58 classroom teachers of whom 94.8% are fully licensed.
There are 9 non-classroom teachers that include Curriculum Coaches, Counselors, Technology/Media Coordinators, Registrar, and the Student Services Coordinator. Ilima Intermediate School has been in Restructuring Status under No Child Left Behind (NCLB) since 2005. With the new Strive HI system, as of the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years, Ilima’s status is Continuous Improvement.
General Learner Outcomes (GLOs)
The GLOs are the essential overarching goals for all grade levels in Hawaii’s public schools -- from elementary through middle to high -- and all of the academic disciplines. Every content and performance standard should support the learner's progress towards these outcomes because they enable learners to lead full and productive lives.
